Re-Imagined Disney Wonder – Day 2

Re-Imagined Disney Wonder – Day 2

On our first full sea day, I was surprised to awake to the sound of rain. When cruising to the Caribbean, one expects days of sunshine. However, it was rainy and chilly most of the morning.

We slept in a bit and then wandered up to Cabanas. After breakfast, we attended the Disney Vacation Club Member celebration where they offered a complimentary drink of the day or bottled water. Usually, there are also snacks, but none were offered today. During the talk, there were technical problems, so they presented information out of order and threw out a few of the blinking rubber bracelets. They offered free 25th anniversary buttons and gave away a $200 onboard credit. If you chose a time to meet with a DVC Sales Advisor, you received Fast Passes to use at Walt Disney World on your next trip. Surprisingly, the event was not very well attended; I think everyone was exploring the ship.

After the DVC meeting, I perused the shops. I thought the selection of merchandise was very nice compared to this summer’s offerings on the Disney Magic. Though it was on my calendar, I completely missed the Castaway Club reception! I didn’t realize it until after our usual lunch at Triton’s.

Still not enjoying the cloudy and overcast weather, I decided to catch up on rest while the family went to Trivia (where they won the coveted Mickey medals). After my nap, I walked around and took a few more pics of the refurbished areas.

This evening was Pirate Night, but we opted instead to dine at Palo. The menu was pretty much the same as during our summer sailing on the Disney Magic. As always, I ordered an extra dish of the Mushroom Risotto for sharing. We finished dinner just as the fireworks started.

After dinner, we visited Azure for Majority Rules and Match-Your-Mate. Attendees were pretty thin here again tonight. I am not sure if it is the shorter cruise and thus a different crowd, but it is rare to have so few people at the evening events. I do have to say how much I love After Hours on the Disney Wonder. It carries through the theming of being “under water” so well.
